Easy AF No-Bake Granola Bars

Quarantine may have forced us all into the kitchen, but this is a skill that we love for simplifying your life, save you money and reduce your waste.

Each made bar comes in at $0.34 (ingredient depending), no individual packaging, you know & decide what goes into your body and it gives you something to do with your kids [or for the gram.]

What’s not to love? So let’s get to it.

  1. [optional] pull out all your ingredients and take a photo for Instagram.
  2. Line a 9″X9″ baking dish with parchment paper. Snip the corners of the parchment paper to make a nice fold in the corners.
  3. In a large bowl mix together the oats, seeds, and dried fruit. [if you are adding the cinnamon add during this step]
  4. In a separate mixing bowl mix together honey & nut butter. [if these ingredients are a bit too hard to stir throw it in the microwave for 15second intervals until mixable.] If you’re choosing to add the vanilla, add here.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients to the wet. THEY SHOULD BE STICKY. obv. [if they are not sticky, like, don’t want to touch it sticky. Add more honey or nut butter to your mixture.]
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking sheet & press down the mixture to really pack it in there. I used the back of a metal spoon. A flat cup or spatula works as well.
  7. Refrigerate or 20-30 mins, cut and enjoy!

What to do:

If you’re handy around the kitchen you can try these tips to add an additional depth of flavour:

  1. toast the oats or nuts [or both] at 375 for 8-12 mins
  2. play around with differnt nuts or dried fruit. Just note the salt content. You may want to reduce the salt in the nut butter if you choose to add salted nut options.
  3. Maple Syrup instead or in addition to honey – get real Canadian.
& here is why you’re going to love it.
